  • Located at 612 West Main Avenue in the heart of Gastonia's Franklin Urban Sports and Entertainment (FUSE) District, the Trenton Mill Lofts will serve the rising number of North Carolinians who choose to live in smaller cities like Gastonia. These cities are considered a vital corridor for commuters to the Charlotte metropolitan area. Built in 1897, the historic Trenton Mill was Gastonia's second textile factory and the oldest still standing. Scheduled for completion by early 2022, the new Trenton Mill Lofts will comprise 82,000-square-feet with 85 residential units and surface parking. LMG Group is the proud developer of this historic preservation, adaptive reuse project. "Trenton Mill Lofts represents a growing trend in the revitalization of downtown areas across the state of North Carolina" said Michael Kaufman, CEO of Kaufman Lynn Construction. Novi Flats is unique in that it is attached to the City parking garage which offers convenient parking in a busy downtown area. Project Highlights

  • Located next to the new City Hall on Market Street will be the largest of the three projects proposed for downtown Concord that will be called the Novi Rise. The Novi Rise is designed to stand 7-stories tall as an upscale market rate apartment building with 30 studio, 109 one-bedroom, 28 two-bedroom apartments, and 3,359 sqft of retail space. To support diversity and inclusion we plan to dedicate a portion of the units as affordable to tenants earning below 80% of the area median income. The apartments will boast finishes such as granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, high efficiency furnaces with air condoning, and in-unit washers/dryers. On-site amenities will likely include a pool, dog washing station, secure Amazon package lockers, and a fitness center. These amenities will be accessible to the tenants at our other two Market Street buildings as well which will tie the residents together in a sense of community as well as creating even more foot traffic along Market Street.

Project Highlights

  •  After many years of vacancy, the city will be removing the old municipal building at 26 Union Street South to make way for Novi Lofts, our third mixed-use development downtown, across the street from the new City Hall. Considering this lot's unique location sandwiched between Union Street South and Market Street we will pay special attention to the integration of the retail units into the surrounding environment which will be important for the success of the future retail tenants. For example, providing wider sidewalks and outdoor street level terraces for retail and allowing for private use of such spaces helps to bring activity generators to the exterior of the project in a way that engages the general public and pulls it in. We will be following closely the Union Street streetscape plans that the city is working on.
